Who we are

Abnormality Software is an independent software developer based in New Zealand, building and distributing free Windows desktop utilities. This website (abnormalitysoftware.com) is our home online.

What data we collect and why

We keep things simple. Here's exactly what happens when you interact with this site:

• Analytics. This site uses analytics to understand how visitors find and use it — things like which pages are popular and where visitors come from. This data is aggregated and anonymised; we don't use it to identify individuals.
• Email contact. If you email us directly or use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. It's sent straight to our inbox to reply to you - we don't store it anywhere else. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to filter out spam/bots, which may process your IP address per Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy policy.
• Download counts. When you download one of our apps, we count that download against the file name only (e.g. "42 downloads") - no IP address, device info, or anything else identifying is stored alongside it.
• Ko-fi / third-party payments. If you choose to support us via Ko-fi, any payment or personal data you provide is handled entirely by Ko-fi under their own privacy policy. We don't receive or store your payment details.

Cookies

Our analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visits. You can control cookies through your browser settings. No cookies are used for advertising or tracking across other websites.

Who we share data with

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third parties involved are:

• Our analytics provider, for aggregated site usage data
• Ko-fi, if you choose to make a donation — governed by their own privacy policy

Data retention

Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to resolve your query. Aggregated analytics data may be retained longer to help us understand site trends over time, but contains no personally identifiable information.

Your rights

As a New Zealand-based operation, we respect your rights under the Privacy Act 2020. You can ask us at any time:

• What personal information we hold about you
• To correct any inaccurate information
• To delete any information we hold
